"Becoming a school bus driver with Reichert was the best decision! I could bring my kids with me, save on daycare, and work a schedule that fit our lives perfectly. What started as a temporary plan turned into a 24-year career full of purpose and rewards."

"I’ve driven for Reichert on and off since 2000, covering both Special Education and General Education routes. The flexibility and support have always made it easy to return when ready. I’ve appreciated the opportunity to work with a wide range of students—from those needing extra care to busy GenEd routes. My son has also been with Reichert for nearly 20 years, working as both a driver and a mechanic. For our family, Reichert has been more than just an employer—it’s a place we’ve been proud to grow with and a community we’re proud to be part of."

"I’ve been a school bus driver for 14 years. I started out transporting preschool children, and those early years were filled with joy—I truly loved working with the little ones. Over the past eight years, I’ve driven students of all ages, from preschool through high school. I enjoy getting to know each student—their little quirks, what lights up their smile, and what can sometimes upset them. Not every day is perfect, but the smiles, waves, and high fives make it all worthwhile. It’s easy to become attached, and it’s truly rewarding to be a part of their daily lives.

At Reichert Bus, we have a strong, supportive management team that’s always ready to help when challenges arise. We all understand how important school is for these young people, and being part of the team that gets them there and back safely is something I take pride in. Watching students grow throughout the school year—and from year to year—is one of the most fulfilling parts of this job.
Mike Hanson
"I’ve driven for Reichert Bus for many years, with just three different routes, and now transport the children of former students. It’s a great part-time job with opportunities to earn more through extra trips. I’ve built strong friendships with coworkers and enjoy the sense of community. Sometimes the bus driver is the first person the children meet in the morning and the last person they see after a very busy and challenging day at school. The best advice I can give is to be friendly, but firm with your rules—it helps create a safe and respectful environment for everyone."
